Pep Talk
What "Pep Talk" has does your novel give to readers? The pep talk in Can't Get There From Here is that you shouldn't live on the street. The street shouldn't be where you go next. If you have a bad family or if people are treating you bad try to go somewhere that you feel comfortable the street isn't a place to live. The pep talk is also if you are on the streets get off while you can. if you have the chance to get out of their do it. All you can do on the street is beg for money, food and clothes. Many people are on the street and the only reason they are on the street is because they can't get out.The novel tells people that the street in't good for mostly teen but anyone. The pep talk from the novel also is that people could change like from wanting to stay and live on the street to wanting to go home or wanted to stay other people.
Can't get there from here qoute
On the book OG said to the street teens that they cant get anywhere from where they are right know. Most of the street teens thought that it was true so they decided to not do anything about it. Most street teens in the book think where they are right know is where they are going to be in the future. The street teens think that the street is know there home and don't look for any help. It can be true for anybody who lives on the street and don't do anything about it. Most homeless people think that the only way they can go is on the street instead of changing that.
Can't Get There From Here
OG said "Can't Get There From Here"because he want to say that all people that live on streets have a hard life because they can't get there from here. It basically means that if they live on the street it's really hard to get out of the street life because it's hard to go back to your family or to get a job.
I read an article about how most people that live on the street can't get out. They said that when people leave their family's or lose their family they live on the street when they live on the street it's hard to leave it because of drugs and other people that are with you.

Individual post on Cant get there from here.
Look at the sympathetic adults in the book such as Anthony, the social workers from the Youth Housing Project, Detective Charles, and Officer Ryan. These adults try to help the homeless teens. Why do you think the homeless teens avoid and reject the offers of help and services available to them?
They rejected the offer because they do not want to fallow any rules. The homeless teens think that they can live on the streets and be okay. They think that all the adults are the same meaning like horrible people and like robots. The street kids think that the adults lie on things they say and don't care about them. They think that adults are sickos and the only thing they want is little boys and girls.
"Endless amounts of water. And you feel like you could wash in it. Wash away everything bad. Every crappy unfair thing that ever happened to you, gone. Then you could start over again. A whole new beginning just like the day you were born."
Detective Charles is telling Maybe to get of the streets. To make a new life. A new beginning. He want her to start out all fresh and leave the streets. This is like for most prisoners they want to start a new life. Most people around the world want to do the same too. They want all the bad things to go away and start of new.

Individual Post about Maybe-Zane
Share your thoughts about some of the homeless teens in this book. Do you feel sympathy for anyone? Are you angry at any of them?
I think all the kids could go to the homeless shelter and be good their but they decide to live on the street. I feel sympathy for maybe because people who she is close to are dying and the only person she has is Anthony. I'm mad at some of them. Most of them could have picked to go to the homeless shelter. They decided to live on the street witch is a bad choice. I think they should just go to the shelter and live there.
"It's Nikki. Hey, yeah, I'm okay. In New York. Yeah, It's really cold. No, I'm warm enough. Oh, here and there. No, nothing like that. Yeah, I want to come home. Is he still living there? I told you why. No, Mom. He did. I don't care what he says. no i didn't imagine it. Then he's a liar. No, i won't come home as long as he is there. Jealous? I don't think so. Okay. have it your way.Bye."
Why is her mom not believing her? If she want's to come home her mom should get rid of the guy and let Tears come back.
I watched a mystery show with my dad that a little girl ran a way from home because the guy was doing things to her that she didn't like. When she tried to come home her mom didn't believe her so she never came back.
